For the first time in a long time...

I’ve got a lotta things to do tonight
I’m so sick of making lists
Of things I’ll never finish
I’ve lived here for the last 12 years
Since early 1995 all my shit has been in boxes
But if I had a little more time to kill
I’d settle every little stupid thing
Yeah you’d think that I would

But I’m too tired to go to sleep tonight
And I’m too weak to follow dreams tonight
For the first time in a long time I can say
That I want to try to get better and
Overcome each moment
In my own way

I wonder if I’ll ever lose my mind
I tried hard for awhile
But then I kinda gave up
Winter is a killer when the sun goes down
"I’m really not as stubborn as I seem,"
Said the knuckle to the concrete

But I’m too tired to go to sleep tonight
And I’m too weak to follow dreams tonight
For the first time in a long time I can say
That I want to try to get better and
Overcome each moment
In my own way

I’m not saying that I’m giving up
I’m just trying not to think as much as I used to
Cause "never" is a lonely little messed up word
Maybe I’ll get it right some day
For the first time in a long time I can say
That I want to try
I feel helpless for the most part
But I’m learning to open my eyes
And the sad truth of the matter is
I’ll never get over it
But I’m gonna try
To get better and overcome each moment
In my own way

I so want to get back on track
And I’ll do whatever it takes
Even if it kills me
So I'm iming my boyfriend instead.

Jenna (12:05:16 PM): i love you!
Pete (12:05:30 PM): i love you!
Jenna (12:05:43 PM): <-- luckiest girl EVER!!!
Pete (12:06:24 PM): ^ best girlfriend ever
Jenna (12:07:19 PM): *aww*

February was so short! I know that's a bit of a 'duh' statement, but it ended really quickly! I hung out with Am Jam and went to the Jimmy Eat World Clarity Tour (!!!!) on the 23rd. We hit up a small bar around the corner from Terminal 5 where Jason let me eat most of his fried ravioli and sweet potato fries (score). The show = uh-mazing. They played Clarity from beginning to end, just like I'd hoped! Their 'encore' was a handful of b-sides and a few singles. I was a bit pissy beforehand and almost skipped out on the show (ah!), but am VERY thankful I didn't!

As if the week wasn't awesome enough already, my Mom <3 came to the city on Wednesday! I took her out to dinner at Wild Ginger and spent almost a week living at the Double Tree. Our hotel room was the size of my apartment (probably equates to the size of a normal hotel room, but seemed a lot more spacious than I'm used to!) I randomly found WG at restaurant.com; $25 gift cards were on sale for $2 a piece. So, I loaded up on gift cards from random restaurants throughout the city (anyone wanna go out for dinner?? Haha.) NYC food is the best; I never want to eat at the same place twice (unless its Red Bamboo) plus, who can judge me for saving myself some cash in the process?

Thursday Mom and I went to the Rangers game thanks to some of our friends who work there. MSG is SO much different better than the Ice Sports Forum. Their wives room(s) have HD TVs, an array of fresh food, a bar, and a frozen yogurt machine! It's like the XO Club only nicer and in a cozier setting. The Rangers ended up losing despite a early lead (and one of our goals was retracted) but I had a great time anyway. I miss my hockey. If only my roommates like sports and not GTA...

Friday I took the day off and woke up to another spectacular breakfast. We stayed at the Double Tree on 51st and Lex (my mom is classy ;-) and our stay included breakfast. The first day I had eggs, fruit salad, and a parfait but by the time Mom's trip ended I was all over the french toast, bacon, and make your own waffles. This weekend totally proved I'm a foodie! As for Friday, Mom and I hit up the NHL store and picked up some essential Rangers gear. I am stoked to have a new (home) team to root for!!!

We had another first and braved the weather in line at the tkts booth in Times Square. We scored 1/2 off (bad ass) Avenue Q tickets! I didn't know anything about the show other than it won a Tony and puppets were involved... It turned out to be a fucking amazing show! I left humming "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" but I'd have to say "The Internet is for Porn" was my favorite song. Oh, and "It Sucks to be Me" even though I can't relate!!!

Saturday we (well, my Mom) did some power spending. She got us Fossil watches from Macy's and a few new outfits from a couple of botiques. We nommed at Rue 57 and took candy home from FAO Schwartz. We ended our evening with another hockey game (which we won!). It is so sad that I have the coolest mom ever and now live so far away from her :(

This week's been pretty uneventful aside from hanging out with Bailey and Kevin on Tuesday and a failed attempt at Yoga last night. I am looking forward to more Am Jam hangs this weekend though, possible catching Watchmen, a sushi date on Saturday and maybe even a Chris Gethard bus ride to Jersey. And 6 days till I see Pete!!!

Why am I so damn happy all the time?

Looking forward to:

+Congratulating Bailey tonight!
+Seeing Doug Benson with Jos Lev!
+Nikki moving back soon!
+Seeing Jimmy Eat World Tuesday!
+Seeing my mom next week!
+Seeing Pete next month!
+Seeing Kimpossible the month after!
+Going to Bamboozle!
+Going on a week beach vacation in June!

Also, I found donation yoga and invested $12 in a yoga mat. Check out yogatothepeople.com if you're in NYC! I've been a handful of times and I feel a bit taller. I think it's been helping my spine. I love this city, it keeps getting better and better! God bless NYC.
The memory card fell out of my camera (boo) so I have no good pictures as of late. I've always liked books with pictures growing up, so I like to add them to LJ entries. I feel I'm more inclined to read my old LJ posts if they have pics. However, I have yet to actually re-read any of my LJ. I guess I prefer looking up and forward!

I am in the BEST mood today! I woke up at 6:20, skipped downstairs to the gym, ran for 45 minutes, decided to make cupcakes, came upstairs, preheated the oven, hopped in the shower, got out, threw cupcake ingredients in a bowl, and then threw 24 cupcakes in the oven. I put on my work clothes and made breakfast and while my lovelies baked. I took them out and let them cool while I did my makeup and hair. Then I frosted and decorated my cuppycakes before sprinting out the door. Honestly, I'm quite impressed with my time management skills! I finished them riiight before having to leave for work but I wish I had more time to decorate them. I mean, they look awesome, but if I would have allotted myself more time I could have made some better cupcakes to celebrate BAILEY'S ENGAGEMENT!!!

Crappy Camera phone pic:

I put the 12 prettiest on top and my least favorites underneath. Not bad for incorporating baking into my morning routine. Speaking of baking, there's a rumor going around that Bailey wants a cupcake wedding cake and she wants me to make it! Hopefully I'll find out for sure when I head over tonight. Pete mentioned it on my way to work this morning, so now I REALLY wish I had decided to make cupcakes earlier! I am so excited to see Pete's sister get married and possibly be a part of it!!!

This weekend I had the cutest long distance date. For Valentine's Day, Pete and I ordered Chinese (well, I had Thai) food and we had dinner together via webcam. I love that he puts up with my silly little ideas. Then we watched Miracle over the phone together: "Mine's at 17 seconds." "Ok, mine, too!" "Unpause in three, two..." "Wait! Three, two, one 'Go' or unpause on 'one?'" "Um, on 'Go!'" Lol. My boyfriend is pretty much adorable. And I drool on him every night :-P

That is just so typically me.

Superbowl Sunday I made some more badass cupcakes. Plz see below.

I took them to Bailey and Kevin's friend's place for a pAArty and I also threw $2 in a football pool and came out with $20. Whee! I was hoping for a Cardinals win, but after I had earned $20 from the second quarter, I didn't care who won as the score was in my favor.

Last week went by pretty quickly and I ended up getting my Valentine's Day present from Pete a week early. I love it; I am now enabled to drool on him everyday.

Friday I hung out with Am Jam, Sluz, Caleb, and Jenn at Barcade. I feel I have some pretty sweet Miss Pac Man skills. The best part of the night was the ride to the bar. The SUV we called had a Portable DVD player fully equpit with a KARAOKE MACHINE. We sung 'Oops! I Did It Again' and 'Lean On Me' on our way to the bar. Our time was short, but I feel it was used very effectively. As per usual, the question of the night was "Where did you get that STRAW?"

Saturday I grabbed my 4 lens action camera, some black and white film and headed towards Times Square. I had a(n hour) pit stop in the NHL to catch the end of the Flyers game and it felt pretty good to watch some hockey. I used up my roll of fil taling pictures of people and taxis and headed in to NBC to catch up with Pierre and eat Saturday Night Live's food for (possibly) the last time. It is sad to think Late Night with Conan O'Brien is in its final two weeks.

After leaving Pierre I met up with Melissa, Lisa E, and Erica for some dinner, since dinner round 1 was (apparently) not enough to fill yours truely. We went to Telephone Bar and Grill after stopping at the Village Theater to get tickets for the latest chick flick. When it was my turn, I stepped up to buy my ticket and forgot the name of the movie, so I blurted out "One ticket to 'She So Doesn't Like You' please!!!" So all night the name of the movie kept changing. The real title should've been "He's So Not Into This Movie." No dude looked stoked on it!

Yesterday I ate for 1/3 of the day and slept for another 2/3. I found out my friend John from Indiana will be huuur on Wednesday to see Conan so I am very excited to see him and I'm trying to get Pierre to come out with us, too. Also, one of the guys in FNB texted me and asked if I would go to their show on Thursday and since Am Jam's going, I said "Sign ME up." Friday's forcast is looking to be pretty solid with some more AM Jam hangs and Saturday's a bit overcast with a videochat with Pete and chinese take out with Lisa E. Sunday = either NHL on NBC or NHL in MSG. I am hoping for the latter. We'll see how it goes.

A new way to waste time...

I have had a VERY busy morning. Below is what I've accomplished so far. Thanks dailymakeover.com!

Taylor Swift, much?Collapse )

There's plenty of celebs to choose from, but the above were my favorite hits and misses. I do kind of want bangs, though. Pete gave me the no-go, but since he's sporting a shorter do, I wouldn't feel as bad about changing my look. Opinions on the first pic? I kinda like the side swipe-y bangs!

Big Bang Theory

As usual, this week has been awesome (I sound like a total bro). I think I need to start updating my LJ daily because, yet again, I've pretty much forgotten what the hell happened since the last update. I've been pretty good documenting my life via my digital camera but it's sitting in my apartment at the moment. I keep meaning to post pictures, but after I upload them to my computer I forget to mess with them since I'm always on the run. I guess I'm just too busy being... busy!

Purging life in journal. Warning! Intense unorganized word vomit may follow.

Last weekend I got free tickets from work to check out Brian Posehn. I went with Lisa E and we left just in time to get hit by a whirlwind of SNOW! Rather than taking the subway for 8 Avenues, we walked and took pictures every step of the way home. In my mind, snow looks different from every angle. And every angle is beautiful!!! Seriously, the most random objects become STELLAR objects when the have snow on them. Prove me wrong.

Lisa done got snowed on!

Two nights ago I passed Kristen Johnson outside of Telephone Bar (3rd Rock From the Sun, anyone?). She smokes. Eww.

I've probably been to Angels and Kings 3 times in the past week. I say "probably" because my memory is shot, not because I got so drunk I can't remember. That would really suck though, b/c since I'm never charged for anything it's not like I could count receipts (which is usually my method of calculating the amount of pizza I've eaten in an evening). Anyway, I really, really like it there. You know you've found a good bar when they take your credit card merely to appease you. I actually left it there on Friday because Nikki and I were too tired to go back and get it after hitting up Falafel Star. I went back the following night and my card was tucked away safely under the cash register (thaaaanks Jesse). In Orlando, I definietly wouldn't have left my card anywhere knowingly, and you can bet I'd cancel it ASAP if it wasn't in my possesion!

Soooo, Lisa and I made Christmas cookies! I like making goodies, what can I say? Also, she got me a hair dryer for my birthday! I haven't had one since August. I dropped my old one and the nozzle busted off, yet I still continued to use it (Hi, I'm cheap). However, it didn't exactly make the move to NYC.

Cookies? I'd rather make a mess kthxbye.

Speaking of goodies, I made snowmen cupcakes. The turkeys looked cooler. Then again, my snowmen all had their arms amputated. Arms are overrated anyway. Fuck arms.

If snowmen had beaks...

This past Saturday I saw Nicole, Lisa AND the entire Baker clan!!! Erica and her family came up from Florida to spend the holidays here. I absolutely LOVE the Baker family. We intended on ice skating, but apparently the entire isle of Manhattan had the same idea. 30 rock was paaaacked so we took a detour through Times Square before making our way to Bryant Park (hey, they're tourists). Let's just say free ice skating wasn't any less busy...

I sparkle, too!

Today I had to watch Gossip Girl and edit out the Cyndi Lauper scenes to submit to a casting agency. Let me rethink that... Today I HAD to watch Gossip Girl. Yup! Still love my job!

I figured out whats different here in NY. I feel like I have friends! I'm not saying I didn't have friends back home, but for some reason I always felt I was being a burden if I called and asked someone if they wanted to hang out. So, I'd kind of sit around hoping someone would call. Also, I never wanted to be like, "Hey! Come over! Let's hang out at my parents house!" Here I feel like I know EVERYONE. And I love it! I am also super stoked I've gotten so close with Lisa. We were roomies in college and literally NEVER saw each other!!! Also, I've gotten over my intense fear of hang out rejection.

No longer a hangout reject.

Also, Polaroids are awesome.

Tuesday night I went to a Fall Out Boy performance. I love that band to death and will support anything they do, but something was just off. Maybe it was the choreographed dance routine/dancers, maybe it was Pete talking about the Cowboys for a short eternity, or maybe it was the strobe lights. Regardless, they played Yule Shoot Your Eye Out and sounded spectacular. And I found $5 on the ground! Also, Nikki and I waited in an autograph line just to say hi and it was fucking weird. Pete was high, Joe was (oddly) excited to see me, Andy was just as awkward as I was ever, and Partick seemed like the same sweetheart he's always been. Love those boys.

Meee and Peeeeeeete

Victor Garber just walked in. Random!

In other news, I got up at 5:20 this morning and headed out the door at 6:30 to meet up with Erica. I wanted to see my favorite Baker again before she left for home from X-Mas vacation. We went to the Today Show and my bff Al shook our hands and wished us Merry Christmas. Also, Meredith Viera wished me a Merry Christmas as well. She's a doll!

This is Today on Jenna's LJ.

I am totally on a sugar high right now! (Eek!) One of our sweetheart actresses (and one of my favorite people) Natalie brought me a chocolate shake from SHAKE SHACK today! Logan (another client who's wonderful) brought us all homemade Christmas cookies! Tonight is our office holiday party, too. I love this agency. Ah! My other favorite Vincent just came in and wished me happy birthday. DUDE! I just love the vibe here.

Ugh, I ate too much sugar today! I'm going to quit word purging. I think I might actually yack! Anyway, I III II II I I'll talk to you guys later.

Also, huge suprise. I found my dad at a bar.

It's the most wonderful time of the year <3

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
